El Paso Import Company: founded in 1985 by Jack Dulaney, a working pharmacist who collected and sold vintage and folk furniture. EPIC has grown from a one-man operation to twelve stores across the southwest. We sell a wide variety of custom-crafted and imported furnishings and accessories to individual clients, restaurants, designers, and production companies.
Initially, EPIC Home Furnishings focused its attention on Mexican antiques that were repaired and refurbished by hand - exposing years of paint, love, and life embedded in the character of each piece. As the company grew, Jack developed a line of complementary inspired reproduction pieces that carry the same attention to detail and handmade charm as the originals.
With increased demand for EPIC Home Furnishings' unique sensibility, Jack began traveling to new locations in pursuit of a more global aesthetic. We now work with artisans in Mexico, India, Indonesia, Romania, Vietnam, Ghana, and Pakistan: truly traveling the world to bring our clients beautifully handmade furnishings.
EPIC Home Furnishings' first retail store opened in Santa Fe, New Mexico, in 1987. Since then, we have expanded across the United States and currently have locations in Arizona, Colorado, New Mexico, Oklahoma, and Texas, in addition to our online store.
All of our pieces are made from 100% solid natural wood. We primarily use kiln-dried, grade-A ponderosa pine and alder for our manufactured pieces; our imported furniture ranges from sheesham to acacia depending on the country of origin. We never carry any products made from composite, veneers, or other engineered woods. We utilize traditional carpentry techniques, and believe in honoring the evidence of the handmade.
